Abstract

The auditorium provided a 3,400 seating capacity. At the time the auditorium was built, it was the largest auditorium in the state of Arkansas. The building was named after George S. Benson, who served as university president for 29 years (1936-1965).

The dedication consisted of musical performances by the Harding Band, Harding Choir, Accapella Chorus, and the Choral singing group. Musical scores performed were composed by Dr. William Holloway.
