Abstract

The facility was previously known simply as the Rhodes Field House. A significant renovation and expansion project, made possible by a $1 million pacesetting gift from Roy and Becky Reaves, added more than 11,000 square feet to the complex. Key additions and upgrades included:

  • A new practice gymnasium.
  • Expanded and upgraded locker rooms.
  • An enlarged front entrance/lobby area.
  • A new hospitality room on the second floor.

The university's Board of Trustees voted unanimously to add the Reaves' name to the building in honor of their contribution. Roy Reaves is a Harding alumnus and a former chairman of the Board of Trustees.

Dr. Bryan Burks presided over the dedication of the Rhodes-Reeves Fieldhouse. Speakers included Dr. Bruce McLarty, Dr. David B. Burks, Dr. Clifton L. Ganus, Jr., and Roy Reeves. Greg Hardin led the closing prayer.
