I have long been inspired by the life of William Wilberforce, a man who spent his entire adult life working to abolish slavery in the British Empire and to improve the plight of the poor and mistreated. Metaxas has given us a wonderfully readable biography of Wilberforce that will help a new generation discover this compelling leader whose steadfast convictions helped shape the course of modern history.
