Abstract
Audio documentary titled “Artist Spotlight: Billie Holiday,” written, produced, and narrated by Dutch Hoggatt for broadcast on KVHU 95.3.
The documentary examines the life and music of American jazz and swing vocalist Billie Holiday. Holiday was born Eleanora Fagan in Philadelphia in 1915. She died in New York City in 1959 at age 44. Holiday was nicknamed “Lady Day” and is among the most influential vocalists in jazz and pop. She won four Grammy Awards during her career, all awarded posthumously. She was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2000.
