Abstract
Dr. Betty Watson, at the request of Dr. Bobby Coker, began the very first resource center with two chartreuse bookshelves full of books and resources. Although it has seen many changes over the years, the Watson Center continues to thrive as a place where service to the community is key and where excitement for all things education is contagious.
Dr. Betty Ann Watson served as professor of education at Harding University for 47 years. Watson will certainly be remembered for her compassion toward people, service to the Harding community, and love for all things reading.
Speakers for the ceremony included Dr. Bruce McLarty, Dr. Raymond W. "Donny" Lee, Jr., and David Watson.
