Abstract

The Dr. Swaid N. and Christy Swaid Center for Health Sciences is home to the Carr College of Nursing and the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders. The 44,000-square-foot building offers classrooms and faculty office space, a skills lab, a clinical practice center, geriatric, well-child and wellness screening clinics, an anesthesia simulation center, a speech clinic, along with study rooms and a computer lab.

Dr. Swaid, a 1973 Harding alum, is a world-renowned neurosurgeon and expert in radiosurgery with vast experience in successfully treating highly complex brain and spine disorders at Neurological Surgery Associates in Birmingham, Alabama. Christy Swaid, created HEAL, and serves as president and CEO, determined to rescue families of Alabama from debilitating diseases that can be prevented through practicing healthy lifestyle habits.
