Abstract
This event documents the October 25, 2013, dedication ceremony for the Dr. Swaid N. and Christy Swaid Center for Health Sciences at Harding University. The building houses the Carr College of Nursing and the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders. The building's namesakes are Dr. Swaid N. Swaid, a 1973 Harding alumnus and neurosurgeon, and Christy Carlson Swaid, HEAL founder and CEO.
The program included remarks by President Dr. Bruce D. McLarty, Board Chair Dr. John O. Simmons, Chancellor Dr. David B. Burks, Assistant Provost Dr. Julie Hixson-Wallace, Deans Dr. Cathleen Shultz and Dr. Beckie Weaver, as well as student speakers Larissa Pinczuk and Ashley Russell.
