Written nearly 150 years ago, Little Women is easily my favorite of the literary classics. It is one of the first books I can remember reading independently and repeatedly. With her quick temper, quirky disposition and flair for the dramatic, I always identified with Jo March but wanted to be more like Meg. Little Women speaks to girls (and boys) of themes related to survival, generosity, romance and family. The movie is good, but the book is definitely worth your time.
