Neale Pryor's Biblical Survey Classes

Dr. Neale Pryor Dr. Neale Pryor served as a Harding Bible professor from 1962 to 2007, serving as Vice-President of Academic Affairs for 17 of those years. His favorite Bible verse and life's motto was "For what shall it profit a man, if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul?" (Matthew 16:26)

Highly respected by the Harding community and beyond, Dr. Pryor was a beloved teacher to generations of students. Those who were fortunate enough to be students in his class were blessed to learn at the feet of a wise and humble servant like Dr. Pryor.

In 1997, his family sought to capture his New Testament and Old Testament survey classes. With Harding’s blessing and assistance from Harding’s media center, the family fully funded the recording of Dr. Pryor’s survey classes for the entire 1997-1998 school year. The preservation of these classes is a significant gift to the Harding University community and the world of Biblical studies.

The family’s generosity ensures that Dr. Pryor’s classroom doors are never truly closed. Whether you are a former student looking to revisit those lessons or a new student looking for a grounded guide, this archive is a monumental resource.

“...I hope this will be one of the most fascinating studies that you have ever engaged in. It's going to be a study of one of the most fascinating books, the most fascinating book … I hope in this particular course that you will gain an appreciation for the Bible like you never have before. I hope that you will have a greater grasp of the material in the Bible and know things and how they all fit together..."
