Description

Jordan Jerusalem Lithostrotos Gabbatha. The etching in the large pavement stone was thought to be for a game played by the Roman soldiers (possibly in the course of abusing prisoners). When the Sisters of Zion convent was built over it, this pavement was thought to be from Herod's Antonia fortress. Current thinking dates it to 2nd century (Aelia Capitolina).
