Abstract
The purpose of this correlational study is to determine whether or not there is a relationship between the amount of time spent on the internet or social media sites and the frequency of pornography habits, and if gender has an effect on frequency of pornography habits. Participants were a convenience sample of 105 men and women between ages 18-24 among two universities in the Southeastern United States. Each participant completed a survey to determine time spent on internet sites, time spent on social media, and the frequency of pornography habits. An analysis of our results showed that there is not a significant relationship between internet use and frequency of pornography habits. Our results indicated no significant relationship between social media use and frequency of pornography habits. Our results did suggest, however, that gender does have a significant effect on frequency of pornography habits.
