Description

This presentation is designed for educators who teach in online or hybrid environments, whether through synchronous or asynchronous formats. While online platforms provide flexibility and accessibility, they can also create distance between instructors and students. This session explores intentional practices instructors can adopt both during and outside of class sessions to cultivate instructor presence, clarity, and meaningful teacher–student relationships.

Drawing from practical experience, the presentation highlights strategies such as course organization, structured communication, individualized meeting opportunities, and relational engagement beyond the virtual classroom. Participants will leave with adaptable practices that foster connection, support student engagement, and help humanize the online learning experience.
