Abstract

Audio documentary titled “Artist Spotlight: B.B. King,” written, produced, and narrated by Dutch Hoggatt for broadcast on KVHU 95.3. The documentary examines the life and music of American blues singer, songwriter, guitarist, and producer B.B. King. King was born Riley B. King in Mississippi in 1925. He died in 2015 at age 89 in Las Vegas. King is considered one of the greatest electric guitarists of the 20th Century and earned the nickname “The King of the Blues.” King was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1987.

The audio documentary won an Award of Excellence in the 2024 Broadcast Education Association National Faculty Audio Competition.
