Abstract

This essay provides a student's perspective on the global COVID-19 pandemic and the issues and fears faced by college students at Harding. Maguffee shares the turmoil of not coming back to school after Spring Break in 2020, about the struggles to complete classes online, about choosing not to be socially distant from friends upon return to campus in the Fall of 2020, and about having to quarantine as a close contact. She speaks to the impact of the pandemic on her and her peers socially, emotionally, physically, mentally, and spiritually.

About the Author

Abby Maguffee is a junior Medical Humanities major from Davison, Michigan. While at Harding, she currently is serving as the Secretary of the Student Association, and a member of Zeta Rho and Beta Omega Chi. After graduation, she plans to attend law school.
