Abstract

This paper seeks to understand the role of the Third Plague Pandemic's overwhelming devastation in colonial India, specifically through the new advancements in scientific understanding, unheard of proactive prevention measures, and increased separation between the colonial powers of Great Britain and the common people of India.

About the Author

Rebecca L. Burrows graduated in the Spring of 2020 with a History and Medical Humanities double major. While at Harding, she served as the President of Phi Alpha Theta, Vice President of Chi Omega Pi social club, and the Anatomy and Physiology II Teacher’s Assistant. She plans to pursue her master’s, and hopefully doctoral, degree in history.
