About This Journal

Ex Sapientia Loqui is a journal of student research, jointly produced by the Arkansas Eta chapter of Alpha Chi and the Honors College of Harding University. Ex Sapientia Loqui represents the best scholarship by our undergraduate students and can be within any discipline. Submissions are accepted until December and the journal is published at the end of the spring semester.

Ex Sapientia Loqui began in the fall semester of the 2025 school year. Its title, a Latin phrase, translates “to speak from wisdom.” The journal was chiefly founded on the belief that the doors to scholarship ought always to be available for every student of the Harding Honors College and Harding’s Eta chapter of Alpha Chi. While we believe that students should be given every opportunity to publish their work, we also believe that the road to participation in scholarship should not be easy. Every article that is published is held to criticism by a selection of students from the two sponsoring organizations, as well as external faculty members with whom the Honors College has a relationship. With these two guiding convictions in mind, we created Ex Sapientia Loqui so that the Honors College and Alpha Chi may better celebrate the exemplary undergraduate research produced by students in these organizations.
