Often knowing where to start is the toughest part of most tasks in life. From your first step as a baby, to riding a bike, writing a term paper, or starting a healthy lifestyle, the fact is, it is hard to get started.

Facilitators in the Playroom will share their ideas and demonstrate how to use the following tools: Lightboard, Echo 360, Canvas, Turning Point, Zoom, Swivl, VoiceThread, Scholar Works at Harding, Collaborative Classrooms, Harding's Testing Lab and 3D Printing.

The spiritual ecology of the church manifests the same connections and interactions that God’s created ecologies possess. Based on Paul’s understanding of our connections and interactions with one another, one could argue that Paul thinks of the Christian community as a collaboratory of relationships, worship, and ministry where God’s people visibly live out their identity as God’s spiritually networked ecology. Designing learning ecologies with this paradigm in mind creates opportunities for students to expand their growth and formation through reciprocity and collaborative learning.

As our connections to one another become increasingly global, distributed, and characterized by hybridization, we need to create an online ecology that is able to encompass this complex and interdependent reality. We will be examining learning ecologies with this paradigm in mind

Faculty will discuss their experiences with designing their courses using quality review standards.

Copyright guidelines for resources posted in course management classes or online venues may be different from what you have been following for your face-to-face classes. This session will quickly cover Fair Use Guidelines, the TEACH Act (The Technology, Education and Copyright Harmonization Act of 2002), and frequently asked questions along with resources and tips about using images, videos, obtaining permissions, and Creative Common licenses.

In this workshop, we will cover the basics of Prezi, a dynamic presentation solution that utliizes a single canvas where you "move" to the content. The panning and zooming motion, which sets Prezi apart, needs to be designed carefully to enhance and not distract from the content. In this workshop, we will review basic VoiceThread features, showcase examples from actual courses and explain how VoiceThread works in your Canvas courses. There will be an open Q&A throughout the session.
