"Welcome to Harding University. Founded in 1924, Harding is a Christian university in Searcy, Arkansas, and is committed to the integration of faith, learning, and living. As a part of this faith commitment, each weekday at 9:00 and 10:00 AM, faculty, staff, and students assemble in the Benson Auditorium for a chapel service. This is a time devoted to worshiping God and developing a stronger community of mission within the university and beyond. At Harding, chapel is an important and cherished tradition, dating back to that first semester in 1924. Today chapel is still where you hear the heartbeat of this university. We're glad you've chosen to be part of this tradition. And now, let's go to chapel." [Narration by Dr. Clifton L. Ganus Jr. at the beginning of chapel broadcasts for many years.]

With many rich traditions, chapel has been an integral part of each student's Harding experience. Chapels feature many different aspects and include serious topics as well as light hearted ones. Memorable chapels such as fellow students and faculty sharing their struggles of faith or chapels that feature favorite songs/hymns and the stories behind why they are favorites along with Muffin chapel, Homecoming court, previews of the Homecoming musicals and Spring Sing, and the Holiday band chapels.
